Potential lockout in Gothenburg

By Sofia Schultz, May 18, 2017
The conflict between APM Terminal and dockworkers Union is escalating and is now leading to blockades and lockout. The lockout is alerted to start May 19th. 4 pm and will last until June 30th.

We are already seeing consequences such as M2 omitting their direct call to Gothenburg next week.
Alternative ports for collecting/loading cargo will be announced.

There will be imposed move restrictions for all carriers leading to slow loading/unloading. As consequence many customers are moving their volumes to other ports, causing heavy pressure on their capabilities.

Some carriers has already proclaimed Force Majeur and will treat the situation according to that.

Please contact your Greencarrier Freight Services Team for guidance and suggestions for alternative routes or transport modes.
